GoBabyGo

Creating opportunities for learning through mobility

Coastal Kids has started a chapter of GoBabyGo in the Central California Area.  GoBabyGo was created back in 2017 when Cole Galloway, physical therapy professor, and Sunil Agrawal, mechanical engineer professor from the University of Delaware collaborated to find a way to get kids with mobility challenges moving.  They modified a ride on car found at a toy store to better fit the needs of a child with special needs.  Once they found the solution they shared their plans with the larger community.  There are now chapters all over the world providing cars to families.  So much learning happens when you move through space: social interactions, cause and effect, spatial awareness, coordination and more.  GoBabyGo is an effort to give children a way to choose movement.

Coastal Kids started modifying cars in January of 2024 and with the help of volunteers, grants and high school robotics clubs, have given away 12 cars so far.
